I still remember that wonderful day
When you welcomed me inside your home
With open arms and a smile so bright
From that moment on I felt whole
You gave me more than I could dream
You filled my heart with joy and love
And now you continue to watch over me
From the glorious Heaven's above
You showed me more in the short time we had
I know in my heart you don't want me sad
That is one promise I can't always keep
As sometimes it's how I fall asleep
I miss your calls and the coffee you'd make
And I know the kids miss the cookies you'd bake
I will always carry you in my heart
And I know with that we won't be apart
Mom there is something that I must say
You have helped me to be who I am today
